DHL GoGreen Plus: Together towards a more sustainable future
For many years, DHL has proudly served as the official logistic partner of Sarajevo Film Festival.
As a trusted and responsible partner, DHL has supported the Sarajevo Film Festival through hundreds of shipments and the transportation of tons of materials, building a strong track record of reliability and collaboration over the years.
All shipments for Sarajevo Film Festival are delivered using fully electric vehicles, whose batteries are partially charged with electricity generated from our own solar panels. Sarajevo Film Festival, through collaboration with DHL, was using GoGreen Plus service for all its shipments in 2025. As a result, Sarajevo Film Festival reduced its carbon footprint by 44.51% in 2025. Sarajevo Film Festival also received a certificate confirming the exact amount of CO₂ reduction (insetting) achieved through the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Another joint step towards our shared goal of sustainable business operations. This partnership continues in 2026, with a shared commitment to implementing activities that contribute to improved environmental protection.
DHL Group continues its journey towards sustainability with the GoGreen Plus service, which allows customers in Bosnia and Herzegovina to reduce CO2 emissions associated with their shipments by using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This service, available through MyDHL+ platform, provides flexibility, enabling customers to choose emission reductions for each individual shipment. Starting from January 2024, customers can select a contractually defined reduction of CO2 emissions for all international shipments. The GoGreen Plus service is the result of DHL's collaboration with SAF fuel suppliers, enabling a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of up to 80%, compared to conventional fuels. One of the features of the GoGreen Plus service is that, in a "book-and-claim" system, GoGreen Plus users worldwide can benefit from SAF, regardless of where it is sourced or which aircraft uses this fuel. The Sustainable Fuel (for air and road transportation) is used within the DHL logistics network and contributes to physically reducing emissions associated with DHL’s underlying activities. All renewable fuels purchased by DHL Express are used directly within our DHL logistics network.
After a successful 2024, DHL has continued to strongly promote the GoGreen Plus service as of today. An increasing number of customers are opting for this service and recognizing the benefits of operating with less environmental damage. During 2025, DHL began issuing the first certificates to customers who used the contracted service during 2024.
Mr. Edin Emšo, Country Manager of DHL Express Bosnia and Herzegovina, said: “ Our customers have responded very positively to the GoGreen Plus service, as they are looking for ways to reduce their CO₂ emissions. Through GoGreen Plus, we provide customers with an opportunity to contribute to environmental protection while continuing to organize the transportation that is an integral part of their business operations. DHL was the first company in Bosnia and Herzegovina to introduce electric delivery vehicles for freight transport. The company continues to invest in its fleet, including courier vehicles, trucks for goods transportation, and other commercial vehicles.”
DHL is committed to sustainability. Day by day, various initiatives are being implemented both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and across the global DHL network. The ultimate goal is to achieve net-zero CO₂ emissions in transport by 2050, with an interim target of using 30% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) by 2030.
Through the GoGreen Plus service, DHL and its customers and partners, including the Sarajevo Film Festival, can work together to contribute to a more sustainable future.
